This year, the American Fallen Warrior Memorial Foundation has teamed up with American Legion Post 370 in Overland Park Kansas to hold our first annual Ride2Remember on the SEP 20.
September and October are important dates during the war on terror. It was 20 SEP 1983 that terrorists bombed the US Embassy in Beirut Lebanon and September 11th, 2001 marks the start of the declared Global War on Terrorism after the attacks on the New York, Washington DC. October 23rd marks the anniversary of the USMC Barracks bombing in Beirut Lebanon in 1983. So, it is with these anniversaries in mind that we help our 1st Annual Ride2Remember.
This year we had 85 riders and about 20 passengers joining us on the 150-mile trek through the small towns of Missouri and Kansas. Stopping along the way at veterans’ cemeteries and memorials for fallen warriors to pay our respects and honor their sacrifice. Each biker carried a picture of a local fallen warrior and at each stop said their name during the ceremonies to ensure that they will never be forgotten.
If you would like to donate, text the word “remember” to 243725 and make a generous donation to help us continue to honor each fallen warrior from the war on terror.
